Itzamnaaj Bahlam of Dos Pilas

ITZAMNA:J-ji-BAHLAM-ma. Drawing and transcription after Martin and Grube (2000).

This name appears in a very damaged passage of Dos Pilas Hieroglyphic Stairway 2, and the present evidence is insufficient to determine if it refers to a son of Bajlaj Chan K'awiil who would have reigned for a short time c. AD 697 (between Bajlaj Chan K'awiil and Itzamnaaj K'awiil), or if it is part of the name of one of Bajlaj Chan K'awiil's wives, a royal woman from the kingdom of Itzan (Martin and Grube 2008:58).
