Framed between two ruined buildings, a detail of the back of the Nunnery's Eastern building. Despite the fact that this would not have been the public or ceremonial side of the building, the elegant Puuc style is still closely adhered to: the sober geometry of the frieze's sculpted mosaic, alternating with smooth panels, is set off by a blank lower wall that is nevertheless lightened by the use of junquillos (small, drum-like stones) on the cornice that separates the frieze from the wall.
