The uppermost steps of Temple XIX are constructed in a manner virtually identical to the northern stairs of Temple XXI. The treads and risers of these steps are faced with thin limestone slabs carefully cut and fit together with a thin layer of stucco mortar at the joins. (Photo: Alfonso Morales.) |
