In 1988, Linda Schele commented on this glyph and the ones preceding it: "The fully elaborated Initial Series dates give us the full personality of the day in question - the number of elapsed days since 4 Ahau 8 Cumku, its name in the tzolkin, the Lord of the Night who was in power, the age of the moon, its position in the lunar half-year and its length, the name of the day in the haab, and the quadrant of time in which it fell (Schele, 1988)."
