The path from the main site entrance (which was a wide dirt road in the era when this photograph was taken) enters from the lower right. The major structures first encountered are the Temple of the Inscriptions on the right and the Palace on the left. A smaller path leads straight ahead to the Temple of the Cross, the Temple of the Foliated Cross and the Temple of the Sun (identifiable by their roofcombs.) The main path curves left and continues to the old archaeological encampment. Along the way it passes the Temple of the Count and the adjacent structures of the North Group.
