I believe that the next four glyphs after the account of the attack on the Hieroglyphic Stairway are still part of the same passage. The next sentence after these four glyphs contains the verb yaleh  and the names of the Triad Gods, and begins with an iwal  focus marker. This suggests that the yaleh  phrase is still part of the preceding event, while the verb introduced by the focus marker introduces the new sentence. The verb yaleh  can be analyzed in various ways. The unusual -eh  verbal ending makes me wonder whether the verb is written in the passive voice, perhaps representing the passive metaphors involving the picture of throwing down or removing these protector gods (Freidel, Schele and Parker 1993; Martin 1993a).
