![]() Instead of this being a weekend jaunt with very few clothes, I ended up being there the whole summer working for the University of Pennsylvania as an artist on the Tikal project. Besides doing drawings of masks of Maler's Palace high up on scaffolding, I spent part of the time doing rubbings of the sculptured monuments Tikal is noted for. It was Dr. Alfred Kidder II who insisted that I do rubbings of everything at Tikal and then go to all of the other Maya sites up the rivers and lagoons in the Peten and make rubbings of their monuments also. |
